Veterans Golf Course is a public 9-hole golf course located on the beautiful campus of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Tomah, Wisconsin.
The course first opened for play in 1960.
The Veterans Golf Course is a non-profit course whose primary purpose is to provide a golf facility for Veterans receiving care at the Tomah VA. Funds generated from public play and donations provide the means to operate and maintain the course.
The course plays to a 9-hole par of 36 and a maximum distance of 2,860 yards.
Course closed in 2014
The nine-hole golf course closed in 2014 due to federal regulations that prohibit the Tomah Veterans Administration Medical Center from using “general post funds” to operate the course. The VA is seeking an outside vendor to operate the golf course, which is projected to cost $375,000 to rehabilitate, with a goal of reopening by spring 2018.
